I know, this is Glee, but humor me. Watch this video of Quinn and Rachel. Both beautiful, but Rachel feels unpretty because she doesn’t like her nose. So she contemplates having a plastic surgeon shape it to look like Quinn’s.
We live in a culture that elevates youth and physical attractiveness above all else. A part of spiritual formation is to grow beyond the shallow definitions we have been ingrained with (both in and out of the church) and to adopt a more holistic view of self-worth.
